The Siberian Husky is a medium-sized working dog, quick and light on his feet and able to carry a light load over great distances. The most famous Siberian was Balto, who was the lead dog who led his team through a blizzard to deliver dyptheria serum to Nome, Alaska in 1925. There is a statue in his honour in Central Park, New York.
